Schengen 90/180 day calculator
Free Schengen calculator for Indian travellers. Enter your past trips and next entry date to see days used, days left and the last day you can stay under the 90/180 rule.
How to use it: enter each Schengen stay from the last six months (entry and exit dates; both days count), then the date of your next entry. The calculator shows the days used in the 180 days before you arrive and the last day you may stay without going over 90 days. This page needs JavaScript to calculate; the rule itself is explained below.
How the 90/180 rule works
What is the Schengen 90/180 rule?
You can stay up to 90 days in any rolling 180-day period across all Schengen countries combined. On any day of your trip, count back 180 days including that day: the days you spent in the Schengen area in that window must not add up to more than 90.
Do the entry and exit days count?
Yes. The day you enter and the day you leave both count as full days, even if you land late at night or fly out early in the morning. A trip from 1 to 10 June uses 10 days.
Which countries count towards the 90 days?
All 29 Schengen countries, including Bulgaria and Romania, which became full Schengen members on 1 January 2025. Days in the UK, Ireland, Cyprus or Türkiye do not count, because they are not in the Schengen area.
Does a new Schengen visa reset my 90 days?
No. The count follows the days you actually spent in the Schengen area, not the visa you used. If you used most of your 90 days recently, a new visa does not give you fresh days until the old ones fall outside the 180-day window.
Is the 90/180 rule the same as the days on my visa?
Not always. Your visa shows its own validity dates and number of days allowed, and you must respect both the visa and the 90/180 rule, whichever is stricter. A visa valid for 15 days only allows 15 days, even if you have more left under the 90/180 rule.
What happens if I overstay in the Schengen area?
Overstaying can lead to a fine, removal, an entry ban and refusals on future visa applications. Since April 2026 the Entry/Exit System records your entries and exits digitally, so overstays are detected automatically at the border.
