Philippines Visa-Free for Indians 2026: 14 or 30 Days, Rules
· 7 min read · By the Travlys visa team
Since 8 June 2025, Indian tourists can enter the Philippines without a visa for 14 days, or 30 days if they hold a valid US, Japan, Australia, Canada, Schengen, Singapore or UK visa. Here is what you need at the airport and how to plan the trip.
Indian passport holders can visit the Philippines without a visa for up to 14 days for tourism. If you hold a valid US, Japan, Australia, Canada, Schengen, Singapore or UK visa or residence permit, you get 30 days visa-free instead. Neither stay can be extended. You also need to register on the free eTravel system within 72 hours before you land.
At a glance: Standard visa-free stay: 14 days, tourism, since 8 June 2025. With AJACSSUK visa or residence permit: 30 days. Extension: Not allowed for either. Passport: Valid 6 months beyond your stay. Also needed for 14 days: Confirmed hotel booking, proof of funds, return or onward ticket. Arrival registration: eTravel, free, within 72 hours before arrival. Longer stays: e-visa at evisa.gov.ph, 7 to 12 working days for single entry. Direct flight: Air India, Delhi to Manila.
The 14-day visa-free entry for Indians
The Philippine government announced visa-free entry for Indian nationals starting 8 June 2025. The official visa policy page on the Department of Foreign Affairs' e-visa portal still lists the same rule in October 2026. It applies at any Philippine port of entry, so you can land in Manila, Cebu, Clark or elsewhere.
To use it, carry:
- Passport valid for at least six months beyond your planned stay.
- Confirmed hotel booking for your trip. A booking you can show on your phone works, but a printout is safer.
- Proof of financial capacity, such as recent bank statements, a salary slip or an employment letter.
- Return or onward ticket leaving the Philippines within 14 days.
- No derogatory record with the Bureau of Immigration, such as a past overstay or deportation.
The stay is non-extendible and non-convertible. You cannot extend it at an immigration office, and you cannot switch to a work or study visa from inside the country. The DFA statement of June 2025 described this entry as for tourism. The current e-visa portal page says tourism and business. If your trip involves any business meetings, check with the Philippine Embassy in New Delhi before you rely on visa-free entry.
About the 7-day extension you may have read about
Several travel sites still say you can extend by 7 days for a total of 21. That comes from an older 2015 rule (Bureau of Immigration circular SBM-2015-003), which gave Indians with US or similar visas 14 days plus a 7-day extension. The 2025 policy replaced it. The current official wording says both the 14-day and 30-day entries are non-extendible. Plan your trip around 14 or 30 days, not 21.
The 30-day option if you hold a US, UK, Schengen or similar visa
Indian nationals holding a valid and current visa or residence permit from any of these get 30 days visa-free for tourism. The group is often called AJACSSUK:
- United States (America)
- Japan
- Australia
- Canada
- Schengen area
- Singapore
- United Kingdom
You need a passport valid six months beyond your stay and a return or onward ticket. The 30 days also cannot be extended. Make sure the visa is valid on the day you arrive in the Philippines. An expired US visa, even a 10-year one that ran out last month, does not count. Carry the passport that holds the visa if your old and new passports are separate.
Tip: If you hold a qualifying visa, tell the airline staff and the immigration officer that you are entering on the 30-day AJACSSUK route. Otherwise you may simply get the standard 14-day stamp.
eTravel: the free arrival registration
Every arriving foreign passenger must register on etravel.gov.ph. Visa-free status does not exempt you. The official FAQ says:
- It is free. eTravel never asks for payment. Sites that charge a fee are not official.
- Timing: register within 72 hours (3 days) before your arrival.
- QR code: take a screenshot or print it. The airline will ask for it before boarding.
- Green or red code: a green code lets you go straight to immigration. A red code means extra checks by the Bureau of Quarantine, usually because of incomplete data or recent illness.
- Mistakes: you can edit your entry through the Edit Registration tab until border officers process you.
You do not need to download an app. eTravel works in any phone or laptop browser.
Onward ticket and hotel: where Indians get stuck
Most problems happen at check-in in India, not in Manila. Airline staff check that you meet the entry rules before they issue a boarding pass. Common mistakes:
- Return flight on day 15 or later. Your exit flight must fall inside your 14 or 30 days. Count the arrival day as day one so you have no doubt.
- No hotel for the whole trip. Book at least your first stay, and ideally the full itinerary, before you fly.
- Passport too close to expiry. Six months beyond your stay is the rule, not six months from today.
- No proof of funds. Carry three to six months of bank statements, even if nobody asks.
Staying longer: the Philippine e-visa
If you need more than 14 days and do not hold an AJACSSUK visa, apply for a 9(a) temporary visitor visa through the official evisa.gov.ph portal. Key points from the DFA's e-visa FAQ:
- Processing: 7 to 12 working days for single entry, 15 to 21 working days for multiple entry.
- No extension: the authorised stay on an e-visa cannot be extended or converted after arrival.
- Payment: pay within 48 hours of applying or start again. Fees are not refunded if the visa is refused.
- Interview: only if the visa officer asks for one.
- Documents for tourists: flight booking, bank statements for six months or tax papers, proof of ties to India such as an employment certificate, itinerary and hotel booking.
The fee is shown when you apply on the portal. Travel for work, study or long visits needs a proper visa from the Philippine Embassy, not visa-free entry.
Where to go in 14 days
The Philippines has over 7,000 islands, and inter-island travel eats time. In 14 days, pick two regions at most.
Boracay
Fly from Manila or Cebu to Caticlan, which is a short boat ride from the island, or to Kalibo, which adds a longer road transfer. White Beach is the main strip. Good for couples and first-timers who want an easy beach holiday.
Palawan: El Nido and Coron
El Nido is known for lagoons and limestone cliffs, explored by island-hopping boat tours. Coron has wreck diving and clear lakes. Fly to Puerto Princesa and drive about five to six hours to El Nido, or take a pricier small-plane flight direct to El Nido. Coron's airport is at Busuanga. Ferries run between El Nido and Coron in good weather.
Cebu and Bohol
Mactan-Cebu airport has international connections. From Cebu you can take a fast ferry to Bohol for the Chocolate Hills and tarsier sanctuaries, or go south for waterfalls and diving. This pairing suits families who prefer shorter transfers.
Siargao
A surf island with a relaxed feel, best known for the Cloud 9 break. Flights connect through Manila or Cebu. Pick it if you want a slower trip, not a packed itinerary.
Best months and flights from India
The dry season, roughly December to April, is the safest window for beaches and boat tours. March to May gets very hot. The rainy and typhoon season runs roughly June to November, when boat tours and ferries can be cancelled at short notice. Prices drop then, but keep spare days and buy travel insurance.
Air India launched the first nonstop Delhi to Manila service on 1 October 2025, about seven hours each way, five days a week at launch. From Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai or Ahmedabad, you usually connect via Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok or Hong Kong. Check current schedules before booking. If you connect through Singapore, check whether you need a Singapore transit visa.
Who should use which route
- A one-region beach holiday of a week or so: the 14-day visa-free entry is enough.
- Two or three islands at a slower pace: use the 30-day route if you hold an AJACSSUK visa. If you do not, apply for the e-visa.
- Business meetings, conferences or work: get the right visa from the embassy. Do not stretch visa-free entry.

Frequently asked questions
Do Indians need a visa for the Philippines in 2026?
No, not for a short holiday. Since 8 June 2025, Indian passport holders can enter the Philippines visa-free for up to 14 days. You need a passport valid six months beyond your stay, a confirmed hotel booking, proof of funds and a return or onward ticket. If you want to stay longer, or you are travelling for work or study, apply for a Philippine visa before you fly.
Can I extend the 14-day visa-free stay in the Philippines?
No. The Philippine government's current visa policy describes the 14-day entry for Indians as non-extendible and non-convertible. Some websites still mention a 7-day extension, but that comes from an older 2015 rule for Indians with US or similar visas. If you need more than 14 days, use the 30-day route if you qualify, or get an e-visa before travel.
Who gets 30 days visa-free in the Philippines?
Indian nationals holding a valid and current American, Japanese, Australian, Canadian, Schengen, Singapore or UK visa or residence permit get 30 days visa-free for tourism. This group is called AJACSSUK. The visa must be valid on the day you arrive. The 30 days cannot be extended. You still need a passport valid six months beyond your stay and a return or onward ticket.
Is eTravel registration mandatory for the Philippines and is it free?
Yes, arriving foreign passengers must register on etravel.gov.ph, and it is completely free. You can register within 72 hours before arrival. Save or print the QR code, because the airline will ask to see it before you board. Any website that charges a fee for eTravel is not the official one.
Is there a direct flight from India to the Philippines?
Yes. Air India started nonstop Delhi to Manila flights on 1 October 2025, about seven hours each way, flying five days a week at launch. From other Indian cities you usually connect through Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok or Hong Kong. Check the current Air India schedule before you book, as days and timings change.
What if I want to stay in the Philippines for more than 14 days?
Apply for a Philippine e-visa at evisa.gov.ph before you travel, unless you qualify for the 30-day AJACSSUK route. The e-visa takes 7 to 12 working days for single entry. The stay it gives cannot be extended after you arrive, so choose your dates carefully. Fees are not refunded if the e-visa is refused.
